On a recent episode of Marc My Word, a new podcast hosted by Marc Terrill, former CEO and President of the Associated Jewish Federation of Baltimore, Aaron Bloom, Director of Tax Services at Gorfine, Schiller & Gardyn (GSG), discusses what has defined his life just as much as his career: giving back.

During the episode, Aaron offers advice for professionals looking to get more involved in volunteering by emphasizing the importance of finding something meaningful, carving out consistent time, and encouraging others to join in.

A seasoned CPA with over 30 years of experience in tax services across real estate, law, healthcare, and technology, Aaron is also a lifelong Baltimorean and a committed volunteer. His appearance on the podcast offers a heartfelt and inspiring look at the impact of community service, and how powerful it can be when professionals make time to show up for others.

For the past 30 years, he has volunteered every Tuesday morning at Manna House, a soup kitchen that serves Baltimore’s homeless and low-income populations.

He currently serves as Treasurer of NECHAMA – Jewish Response to Disaster, an organization that mobilizes volunteers to help communities clean up and rebuild after natural disasters. He also recently helped support NECHAMA’s efforts in Asheville, North Carolina, following Hurricane Helene.

At GSG, Aaron’s commitment to service reflects one of the firm’s core values of giving back. We support the greater Baltimore community through a wide range of initiatives, including volunteer days, board service, and charitable giving.
