Lyons is one of six employees from Protiviti, Inc. who will join GSG’s tax department.

Gorfine, Schiller & Gardyn, P.A. (GSG), a full-service certified public accounting firm, is pleased to announce the addition of John Lyons and his tax practice from Protiviti, Inc., a subsidiary of Robert Half International. The practice will merge into GSG on Monday, December 18, 2017.
Lyons will join GSG as an Officer and Patrick Hom will join as a Principal. Other members will join at the senior and staff levels. The merger contributes a total of six additional employees, including four CPAs to GSG’s corporate office at Owings Mills.
As Lyons was exploring opportunities to grow his tax practice, he found GSG’s excellent tax department and commitment to exceptional client service to fit with his desire to expand his professional capabilities. GSG has evolved over time to offer a full array of accounting and tax services with a strong footprint in a number of industries including construction, not-for-profit, real estate, and employee benefit plans.

Lyons and team will join GSG’s membership to Allinial Global, an international accounting association of CPA firms, expanding its geographical reach.

The Lyons team represents another strategic merger by GSG. GSG’s meticulous choice of prior merger candidates has led to the firm’s continued growth and prominence in Baltimore’s professional community. The merger of Schiller, Holinsky & Gardyn with Harry B. Gorfine in 2000 to become Gorfine, Schiller & Gardyn, P.A. started the firm’s progress to its current status as one of Maryland’s ten largest accounting firms. Later, the acquisition of Graber & Ross Chartered expanded the firm’s reach to the western part of the state with the addition of its office in Hagerstown. The firm’s largest acquisition of the accounting division of Smart and Associates, formerly known as Grabush, Newman & Co., continued the growth and prestige of the firm.
Although GSG has grown over the years, its growth has not impacted the personal service every client always receives from the professionals at GSG.
