The 2005 September issue of Practical Accountant magazine recently recognized the accounting firm of Gorfine, Schiller & Gardyn, P.A. as one of only a handful of firms in the country with its Practice Innovation Award. The publication headlined their profile of the firm for GSG’s “method of implementing paperless engagements.”
The article went on to note that “Gorfine, Schiller & Gardyn converted to total paperless for both its accounting & auditing, and tax practice in a little over 19 months, a timeframe that surprised even some inside the firm.” The article also mentioned that ” the firm has been able to drastically cut storage space both inside and outside of the office, as well as cut paper costs and boost staff efficiency. Excessive unbillable time has been reduced, and staff morale increased.”
The changeover committee featured two “dynamic” champions, and was also comprised of the firm’s most computer literate and forward thinking staffers.
