Barry Bernard Bondroff, Partner at Gorfine, Schiller & Gardyn (GSG), died Friday, May 11, 2018. The longtime accounting executive died at the age of 69 after a long battle with lung cancer.
Barry had 50 years of experience in the accounting industry and specialized in accounting, assurance, tax, business, technology and financial advisory services.
He served on a number of boards, including First Mariner Bank, Stevenson University, and Medifast, Inc.
In addition, Barry served on the following not-for-profit boards: The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, Central Children’s Charities, Inc., Center of Advanced Medical Research, Educational Innovation and Scholarship, Special Olympics Maryland, Cycle Across Maryland, Levendale Hebrew Geriatric Center & Hospital, and Edward A. Meyerberg Northwest Senior Center.
Barry graduated from Pikesville High School and attended college at the University of Baltimore, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He spent two years in the Army Reserves. He became a certified public accountant (CPA), and became managing partner at Grabush, Newman & Co. He then spent time at Smart and Associates, and later moved on to GSG.
His legacy includes his wife Joyce Bondroff (nee Braverman), two sons Brad (Courtney) Bondroff and Jonathan (Emily) Bondroff, brothers Stanley (Reita) Bondroff and the late Howard Bondroff, and his two grandchildren Everly Bondroff and Beckett Barry Bondroff. He was the dear son of the late Shirley and Julius Bondroff and loving son-in-law of the late Beverly and Sidney Braverman.
