Jesse Caples focused his career on accounting and tax services for clients in the construction and real estate industries, including contractors, developers, homebuilders and real estate operators with portfolios valued in the hundreds of millions.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting Economics, Business Administration, and Economics from McDaniel College. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and serves as a Manager at Gorfine, Schiller & Gardyn, where he began his career in 2016. Since then, he has steadily advanced through the firm, taking on increasing responsibility in tax compliance, planning, and consulting.

He works closely with business owners, CFOs, and controllers to provide guidance on complex transactions, tax structuring, and financial reporting. His efforts have helped clients secure significant tax savings and support long-term growth strategies.

Jesse has extensive experience in partnership taxation relating to IRC Section 704(b) and 704(c). He reviews and analyzes partnership agreements as it relates to partnership distributions and the special allocations of partnership income and loss. He also has extensive experience and specializes in like-kind (1031) exchanges. In addition to his tax expertise, Jesse has significant experience in providing compiled and reviewed financial statements.

He values the relationships he builds with his clients and is known for his attention to detail, thoughtful analysis, and clear communication. He is also active in mentoring younger professionals at the firm and contributing to internal development efforts.

Jesse is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), and the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP).
