In the following Gorfine, Schiller & Gardyn podcast, Vicki Hitchcock, a Principal of Audit and Accounting Services at GSG, discusses her background, the firm’s audit capabilities for not-for-profits (NFP), as well as her desire to give back to the community by participating on two NFP boards.
In the NFP arena, accounting and auditing can be very nuanced – from identifying risks for net assets classifications to auditing the tracking of donor restrictions to contribution accounting.
The audit department at GSG understands how every NFP client has unique needs and faces a variety of challenges including increased scrutiny of their financial well-being, tighter budgets, and the need for resource allocation. However, the firm’s audit and accounting support for NFPs extends well beyond the day-to-day.
For Vicki Hitchcock, this means donating her time on boards of very special organizations in the Baltimore area that have a special meaning to her. She serves as the Treasurer and finance chair of two boards at St. Elizabeth School and Keswick Multi Care. Both organizations are undergoing significant capital expansion projects, which Vicki is proudly supporting.
